HKNIC - why nuclear

Why Nuclear
An adequate supply of energy has always been associated with the development of civilisation. Animal power and firewood were dominant in the early days of human history. However, the huge demand for energy after the Industrial Revolution led to the emergence of the use of fossil fuels and they have been our most important sources of energy since then. Following its discovery in the nineteenth century, electricity is now in widespread use as a very efficient energy carrier and has been essential to sustaining our modern way of life.

Nuclear energy that arrived in the middle of the twentieth century is a relatively recent yet common energy source for producing electricity. It is equally safe and reliable as other commonly found energy sources, and has a low environmental impact, offering a useful contribution to fuel diversity in the world.
