| United
States nuclear regulations specify that there should be no capable
faults within 8 km of a nuclear power station. In the case of Daya
Bay, there is no capable fault within 20 km. A capable fault is the
dividing line between two land masses which had at least one significant
activity in the last 35,000 years, or several significant activities
in the last 500,000 years. |
